I've took and edited a few more wellie pictures and the whole project is becoming more bearable all round.
I think cute vintage filters make everything better!

My poor unloved wellies thrown on the floor! |
I kind of like the unloved, dark look of the last photograph, I took all photos late at night in darkness because i love the shadows that the camera flash picks up.
Ideas are starting to flow! I'm definitely thinking of going down the textile route for this, cute flowery fabric wellies contrasted with brick walls and old fences, lots of textures included? So far I've found one textile artist that has used wellies as inspiration and i genuinely really like what she does!
Katie Essam
She really makes wellies look good doesn't she?
'Here’s a small collection of my original painted sewn images. Freehand machine embroidered, with paper paint and fabric, to give the perfect effect. From beach huts, to wellingtons and cupcakes to love seats, I can create a unique composition of virtually anything.'
On her website she explains that she uses mixed media rather than straight forward machine embroidery, the mixed media definitely gives her pieces depth.
